Kuwait has announced a National Digital Livestock Platform project intended to bring information about the sector into a single national database and improve services for breeders.

The project was announced on 5 October by Minister of State for Development and Sustainability Dr Reem Al-Fulaij and Minister of State for Communications and Information Technology Omar Al-Omar, according to Kuwait News Agency KUNA.

Al-Fulaij said the planned system would address fragmented procedures and data. Its priorities include breeder services, subsidy oversight, animal health, food safety and the ability to trace livestock-related information.

She said data analysis and artificial intelligence are intended to support planning and more accurate decisions about the sector, with success measured through better services and sustainable resource management.

Al-Omar said the Central Agency for Information Technology would contribute technical expertise and help connect the platform with relevant government entities.

The announcement describes a project under development; it does not provide a public launch date or an application process.
