Dubai International Film Festival is set to return on 8 December 2027, with its 15th edition placing Middle Eastern films and creative talent at the centre of its programme.
Dubai Media Council announced the return on 17 September 2026 during the Arab Media Summit. The festival began in 2004 and held 14 editions before this newly announced chapter.
The council outlined plans for an event that combines screenings with opportunities for filmmakers to meet producers, investors and other industry partners. Regional stories and emerging voices will be a particular focus.
Mona Ghanem Al Marri, Vice Chairperson and Managing Director of Dubai Media Council, described the initiative as part of a wider effort to develop the film industry and help Arab stories reach international audiences.
Further programme details are expected later, according to the announcement.
