Dubai Airports says it diverted 76% of its waste from landfill in 2025, with the rate reaching 100% in May 2026, as it sets out environmental and accessibility results in its first ESG Impact Report.

Announced on 5 October 2026, the report covers 2024 and 2025 and brings together work across Dubai International and Dubai World Central – Al Maktoum International. Its scope includes the operator’s own performance and selected initiatives involving airport partners.

The operator reported a reduction in electricity consumption of 144.72 GWh against its 2019 baseline, measured as of June 2025. It also highlighted seven food-waste digesters at Dubai International, with a combined processing capacity of 4,900 kilograms a day.

Accessibility was another focus. Dubai Airports said 52,619 learners across 14 partner organisations completed accessibility training in 2025. By the end of that year, 36,040 sunflower lanyards had been distributed to support travellers with hidden disabilities.

The report also identifies unfinished work, including improvements to data collection and the completion of climate-risk and adaptation planning. The figures describe progress reported by Dubai Airports; the May waste-diversion milestone does not establish that the same rate has continued since.
