Outstanding athletes in Bahrain have received 24 educational opportunities through ten universities under the Khalid bin Hamad Seat for the Golden Generation initiative, Bahrain News Agency reported on 8 October.
Beneficiaries represent seven sports federations. The programme, now in its third consecutive year, helps athletes continue their higher education alongside training and competitions.
General Sports Authority chief executive Dr. Abdulrahman Sadiq Askar met the athletes and their parents at the authority’s headquarters. He thanked the participating public and private universities for their support.
The initiative supports the transition into university studies and helps families manage educational costs. The announcement did not specify individual funding amounts or an application deadline.
