Al Hilal Healthcare Group and Fujifilm Middle East have inaugurated AI-powered MRI and CT imaging systems at Al Hilal Premier Hospital in Salmaniya, Bahrain, according to a release supplied by the healthcare group.

The inauguration took place on 22 October 2026. The hospital described the installation as Bahrain’s first AI-powered MRI and CT imaging technology; that national-first claim has not been independently verified by Gulf Good News.

Imaging support for clinical teams

The group said the systems are designed to support image acquisition, radiology workflows and clinical assessment. Interpretation and treatment decisions remain the responsibility of qualified clinical specialists.

The launch brought together representatives of Al Hilal, Fujifilm Middle East and Bahrain Pharmacy, including Al Hilal chief executive Dr Sharath Chandran and Fujifilm regional manager Ryosuke Nakagawa.

Facility visit and patient access

The release also described a visit by National Health Regulatory Authority chief executive Dr Ahmed Mohammed Al Ansari as part of routine healthcare-facility visits. It said he received a briefing and toured the imaging facilities.

Dr Chandran said the group intended to introduce the technology without increasing scan prices. Patients should confirm current charges and the suitability of any investigation directly with the hospital and their treating clinician.

Al Hilal said its network now includes two facilities offering comprehensive radiology services, supported by 17 radiologists across 11 branches. These figures are provided by the group.

Further information about the provider is available on the Al Hilal Healthcare Group website. This report is based on the group’s supplied press release; the accompanying photographs show the launch and imaging facilities.
