Al Hilal Healthcare Group and the Migrant Workers Protection Society (MWPS) have concluded “Let’s Paint Bahrain Pink”, a breast cancer awareness campaign that brought ten sessions to ten Al Hilal branches across Bahrain.

The initiative ran from 14 to 31 October 2026. According to the organisers’ release, it brought healthcare professionals, survivors and community participants together for conversations about breast health and access to screening.

Awareness and community participation

Raji Unnikrishnan, a senior journalist and MWPS board member, curated the campaign. Al Hilal organised it as a corporate social responsibility initiative with MWPS, supported by Uneeco, SBI Bahrain, The New Millennium School, The New Indian School and the ICAI Bahrain Chapter.

Medical professionals led awareness sessions, while free breast-screening services and screening vouchers were offered during the programme. Survivors shared their experiences, adding personal perspectives to the discussions.

Activities included mandala art, tote-bag painting, jewellery and terrarium making, Sip and Paint sessions and stress-management workshops. The organisers said the programme also included a day dedicated to domestic workers.

Closing event supports migrant workers

The tenth and final session took place at Al Hilal Premier Hospital in Salmaniya on 31 October. Dr Bahiya Al Jishi, a board member of the Supreme Council for Women, attended as chief guest, with MWPS chairperson Mona Almoayyed as guest of honour.

Italy’s Ambassador to Bahrain, Andrea Catalano, and Uneeco Group chief executive Jayashankar Vishwanathan were special guests. Dr Fatima Al Aradi contributed a breast-health awareness session, while Atamjeet Singh Bawa led a collaborative art activity.

The finale included a silent auction of the collective artwork, The Movement. The organisers reported that it raised more than BD2,500 for MWPS. Workshop facilitators were also recognised for their contributions.

Al Hilal said the partnership helped bring health-awareness activities closer to communities across Bahrain and that it plans to extend its awareness work in the coming years.
