A new awareness office at Muscat International Airport is helping arriving workers find information about their rights and the authorities they can contact for assistance. Oman’s Foreign Ministry reported the opening on 29 October 2026.

The National Committee to Combat Human Trafficking established the office in the arrivals area. The initiative is designed to make guidance accessible from the beginning of a worker’s stay in Oman.

The first phase uses a digital screen linked to the committee’s website, which provides information in 13 languages. Materials include workers’ rights guidance, embassy contact numbers and the committee’s hotline.

A Ministry of Labour employee is planned for the second phase. That role will include explaining employment conditions and checking basic details such as the employer’s name and agreed salary.

The ministry describes the project as a preventive measure that helps people reach reliable information and support. Ambassadors and representatives of relevant organisations attended the opening.
