Oman Cables Industry has broken ground on a third manufacturing plant in Rusayl Industrial City, announcing an investment exceeding OMR 10 million and more than 60 expected employment opportunities.

The 14 October ceremony was held under the patronage of Energy and Minerals Minister Salim bin Nasser Al Aufi. The company published details the following day.

Investment in manufacturing and people

The project forms part of a wider investment programme of more than OMR 15 million. Oman Cables says the new facility will strengthen production capacity for growing energy and infrastructure needs while developing Omani technical and leadership skills.

Planned capabilities include a 42-metre production tower and equipment able to handle cable drums weighing up to 50 tonnes.

Technology built into the factory

The company plans to use digital production management, predictive maintenance and AI-supported quality and safety systems. These are planned capabilities, rather than evidence that the plant is already operating.

Guests signed a structural beam intended to become part of the new facility, marking the start of its next construction chapter.
