More than 65 UAE nationals are taking part in Abu Dhabi Aviation Group’s Aljeer programme, which combines aircraft maintenance engineering studies with employment and practical experience. The group plans to welcome 35 additional students each year, according to an Abu Dhabi Media Office announcement on 13 October.

The programme marked its first anniversary at an event held at Erth Abu Dhabi on 7 October 2026. Mawaheb Talent Hub, part of the Department of Government Enablement – Abu Dhabi, is a strategic partner.

Participants join the group as employees while studying. Training spans companies including Etihad Engineering, GAL, AMMROC and Abu Dhabi Aerospace Services, providing exposure to commercial and defence aviation.

The pathway includes two years of supervised practical training towards General Civil Aviation Authority licensing requirements. Admission is competitive, with assessments and interviews; the announcement describes planned annual intake rather than an open application deadline.
