Kuwait has announced a national cybersecurity awareness campaign designed to help students recognise online scams and make safer decisions about their personal information.

Named Sur, the initiative brings together the National Cybersecurity Center, Kuwait Finance House and CODED Academy in cooperation with the Ministry of Education. The ministry published the announcement on 11 October 2026.

School visits during October and November

The campaign plans to reach 12 government schools, with two participating schools in each governorate. Sessions for secondary-school students during October and November will cover social engineering, digital fraud and the information that public photographs and posts can reveal.

Young people creating awareness

A second strand, described as a mediathon, targets 150 Kuwaitis aged 15 to 25. Participants will learn to turn cybersecurity topics into short awareness videos using content-production and AI tools.

The figures describe the campaign’s planned reach, rather than completed attendance. Its name draws on Kuwait’s historic wall, connecting the idea of community protection with everyday digital safety.
