MANAMA, 11 October 2026: Kuwait’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation has granted Part-147 approval to the BAS Aircraft Engineering Training Centre (BAETC), opening an approved training pathway in Bahrain for Kuwaiti citizens and residents.
Aircraft maintenance and avionics training
According to Bahrain News Agency, the approval covers basic maintenance training in B1.1, for turbine-powered aircraft, and B2, for avionics. It also includes approved type training for selected Airbus aircraft, including the A320 and A330.
The programmes will be delivered at BAETC’s facilities in Bahrain. The new recognition adds to the centre’s existing European Union Aviation Safety Agency accreditation and supports closer training links between Bahrain and Kuwait.
Information for prospective students
BNA reported that registration for the centre’s 2026 programmes remains open. Applicants can review requirements and register their interest through the official BAETC admissions page.
That page lists an acceptance examination and interview among the requirements for EASA Part 66 B1/B2 applicants. Course admission and professional licensing are separate steps: BAETC’s website states that its Part-66 basic licence pathway also requires work experience after theoretical training.
The announcement concerns training approval; it does not guarantee a professional licence or employment.
