Farmers in Saudi Arabia’s Al-Baha region have begun harvesting pomegranates ahead of the 15th Pomegranate Festival, providing a seasonal boost for local growers and produce markets.
The region has about 750,000 pomegranate trees and an estimated annual output of around 10,000 tonnes, according to the local Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture branch, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency on 7 October 2026.
Growers are picking, sorting and preparing their fruit for sale and for the festival, which will connect farmers, producers and visitors. The source did not specify the festival’s dates.
The harvest follows months of irrigation, pruning and care. For Al-Baha’s farming communities, the season offers an opportunity to market a crop closely associated with the region.
