Business and government leaders gathered in Muscat on 6 October to explore how artificial intelligence can support practical improvements at work, with responsible adoption and workforce skills among the main themes.

SAP Connect Day Oman 2026, held at W Muscat, combined discussions with demonstrations of AI and cloud applications. According to SAP’s 7 October announcement, the programme covered five areas: data and IT, finance and spend management, supply chains, human resources, and customer experience.

A customer panel brought together representatives from Petroleum Development Oman, Energy Development Oman and The Zubair Corporation to discuss enterprise transformation.

Sergio Maccotta, SAP’s senior vice-president for the Middle East and Africa–South, delivered the keynote. Discussions highlighted the importance of trusted business data, governance and employee skills when putting AI into everyday operations.

The event offered a forum for organisations across Oman to exchange experience as they consider where digital tools can make a useful difference.
