Student engineering projects are taking centre stage at GUtech’s third Midad Engineering Festival in Oman, which runs from 5 to 7 October 2026.

Organised by the university’s Engineering Club, the programme brings together project exhibitions, interactive experiences and activities designed around engineering, science and innovation. GUtech says the festival connects Oman’s scientific heritage with the ambitions of a new generation of engineers and innovators.

The event takes place at German Hall, GU2, from 9am to 5pm daily. An opening ceremony was held on 4 October at the university’s History of Science Centre, under the patronage of Said bin Abdullah Al Balushi, the Ministry of Labour’s undersecretary for human resources development.

Alongside student and engineering exhibits, the festival includes an area for local businesses, restaurants and cafés, creating opportunities for participants to exchange ideas and make connections.

The university’s announcement does not specify public admission requirements. Anyone planning a visit should check arrangements directly with GUtech.
