Qatari restaurant founders and chefs came together for the second session of Qatar Tourism’s Taste of Qatar: Spotlight on Qatari Entrepreneurs programme, according to a 6 October report by Qatar News Agency.
The gathering focused on experiences behind local food businesses and opportunities to strengthen the country’s restaurant and hospitality sector. It put homegrown brands and culinary talent at the centre of discussions about innovation and the visitor experience.
Two panel discussions formed part of the event. The first examined entrepreneurs’ journeys, including challenges they had overcome and how they developed ideas into businesses capable of growing.
Omar Abdulrahman Al Jaber, Qatar Tourism’s director of operations affairs, said the organisation aims to support higher quality and service standards while helping business owners create distinctive experiences.
He also highlighted the role of local restaurants in introducing visitors to Qatar’s culture and hospitality.
