Qatar completed the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games in Japan with 18 medals, split equally between six gold, six silver and six bronze, according to the Qatar Olympic Committee.

The final day brought two medals in individual show jumping. Faleh Sweid Al Ajami won gold, while Bassem Mohammed claimed bronze, adding to the national team’s total as the competition concluded.

The Olympic Committee’s report, published on 4 October, described the equestrian results as a positive finish to Qatar’s participation. The country had entered the final day with 16 medals before the riders added their gold and bronze.

A Qatar News Agency review published on 5 October also highlighted medals across sports including beach volleyball, shooting, athletics, handball and 3×3 basketball.

With the Games now completed, attention turns towards Doha’s hosting of the next Asian Games in 2030, bringing the continental sporting event back to Qatar.
