Msheireb Museums and Qatar Reads have launched Smart City Explorer, an activity booklet helping children connect local heritage with smarter, more sustainable cities.
According to Qatar News Agency, the booklet uses Msheireb Downtown Doha to introduce ideas about urban life through interactive activities. Families will receive it through the October Family Reading Program, extending the learning experience into their homes.
The launch programme included workshops in coding, sensors and microcontrollers, with children building interactive smart-home systems. Another workshop combined clay with 3D-printed moulds inspired by Qatari patterns and architecture.
Families also visited Mohammed Bin Jassim House to explore the district’s history and the influence of traditional community life on its modern development.
Qatar Reads operates under Qatar National Library. The collaboration brings reading, heritage and practical discovery together for younger learners.
